Boone began exhibiting at The Portland Art Museum in juried Oregon Annuals, the Northwest Annual at Seattle Art Museum, and Spenser Museum, Lawrence, Kansas. His exhibitions ranged from New York (Truman Gallery, Kathryn Markel, Jourdan Arpelle) and other East Coast cities (Gallery K, D.C.; C. Grimaldis, George Ciscle, Maryland Art Place, Baltimore); and Easton Academy of Art) to the Northwest (Polly Friedlander and Greenwood, Seattle; Fountain Gallery and Hoffman Gallery, Portland; Gail Severn, Ketchum; Yellowstone Art Center, Billings, Montana; J. Crist Gallery, Boise; and Lorinda Knight Gallery, Spokane).
He spent the 1990s in Idaho where he was a featured artist in Boise Art Museum’s 1995 Triennial and awarded a Purchase Prize. In 1999, he had a one-person show at the museum, curated by Sandy Harthorn. During that decade he was a visiting artist at Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy, where he exhibited and lectured.
Most recently his work has been at Imogen Gallery, Astoria, Oregon; Cannon Beach Gallery, juried into the Winter Show by Bonnie Laing-Malcolmson, Arlene & Harold Schnitzer Curator of Northwest Art, Portland Art Museum; and Tucson Art Museum’s Into the Night, curated by Julie Sasse, Chief Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art. His work is in permanent collections of Boise Art Museum, Tucson Art Museum and Baltimore Museum of Art, and private and corporate collections in the US, Great Britain, Japan and Spain.
